Growing Green: Take good care of your mums

Wednesday, December 18, 2013 by The Press in Focus

Many of us do not view our favorite and common fall flower, the chrysanthemum (mum), as exotic. However, these lovely and easy-to-grow flowering plants were brought to us from Asia.

Mums have been hybridized many, many times to produce the gorgeous array of fall colors that we see in gardens throughout the Lehigh Valley.

The versatile flowering mum is available in a multitude of sizes, shapes and colors. The height of a typical mum plant can range from one to two feet.

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 by CAMILLE CAPRIGLIONE Special to The Press in Focus

Creative collaborations do not often happen easily, nor do they always produce powerful songwriting unions.

But that was the case when A.J. Swearingen and Jayne Kelli met at Judy's Highway Cafe, Tequesta, Fla. The trendy venue brought together two songwriters of different ages, gender and styles who blended beautifully to create a folk-pop duo with undeniable chemistry.
