Nuscher earns dean’s list

Slippery Rock University

Max Nuscher, of Coplay, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Slippery Rock University. The dean’s list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester GPA of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.

Kutztown University

More than 1,750 students have been named to the spring 2019 dean’s list at Kutztown University. To be eligible for the dean’s list, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade-point average of 3.6.

LEBANON VALLEY COLLEGE

Nearly 470 students celebrated their academic success and achievements during Lebanon Valley College’s 150th commencement May 11 in the Louis A. Sorrentino Gymnasium.

Bath: Ryan Johnson, cum laude, Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and special education. Johnson is a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School.

Northampton: Adam Schisler, cum laude, Bachelor of Science in business administration. Schisler is a graduate of Northampton Area High School.

Stezelberger wins at SkillsUSA

NCC

Christian Stezelberger, a Walnutport native and a Northampton Community College electronics technology major, competed in the industrial motor control category at the SkillsUSA state conference in Hershey April 12. He won first place and a gold medal in the postsecondary category and will go on to compete at the national level during the 55th annual national leadership and skills conference, representing NCC, in Louisville, Ky., in June.

A total of 1,187 students received degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students May 10 and 11 in Koehler Fieldhouse.

A total of 995 bachelor’s degrees, 188 master’s degrees and four doctoral degrees were awarded.

Whitehall grad excels in ROTC

Whitehall resident and Whitehall High School graduate Angela Stella is a cadet with the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 752 at Wilkes University.

According to Lt. Col. Robert Hartmann, U.S. Air Force commander of ROTC Detachment 752, Stella has received several Air Force ROTC medals and honors for her outstanding performance.

“In the fall of 2018, she received the Meritorious Service Medal for her dedication, drive and devotion to duty as the cadet wing commander (highest cadet position),” Hartmann said.
