AUG. 14

An investigation is continuing for a burglary that occurred in the 100 block of Railroad Street.

On North 14th Street, a vehicle was illegally parked, police said.

Police attempted to contact a vehicle owner on North 12th Street when investigating a parking complaint.

AUG. 15

On North 14th Street, an owner was notified for a vehicle that was illegally parked.

AUG. 16

A ticket was issued in the 700 block of Second Street.

In the 1100 block of Fourth Street, officers responded to a report of a loud party.

In the 400 block of Cypress Street, police investigated a report of a suspicious person.

At Third and Walnut streets, officers assisted Catasauqua police.

A theft occurred in the 1000 block of Fifth Street.

An attempted burglary occurred in the 400 block of Buttonwood Street.

At Third and Almond streets, a traffic stop was conducted.

A domestic dispute occurred in the 1100 block of Third Street.

A vehicle was stolen in the 1000 block of Howertown Road, police said.

At Third and Eugene streets, a traffic stop was conducted.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Fourth and Main streets.

A traffic stop was conducted in the 1400 block of Main Street.

A fire call sounded at Redner’s Quick Shoppe, West 27th Street. Officers assisted Northampton Fire Department with a fuel spill.

A domestic dispute between a male and female in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue was reported.

AUG. 12

The department received a parking complaint of an illegally parked vehicle in the 100 block of West 16th Street. An officer was unable to locate the owner; the vehicle was towed.

At American Amarian Syrian Society, 521 Front St., police responded to a noise complaint.

At Hartzell’s Pharmacy, 300 American St., a theft from a vehicle occurred. Police said a handicapped placard was stolen.

A dog at large at Sheckler Elementary School, 201 N. 14th St., was reported. The owner was located.

At Coplay Parkway, 2 Keefer St., police responded to a report of a disorderly group of juveniles.

Lehigh Twp. day care owner pleads guilty in 2016 infant death

Sharon’s Day Care owner and operator Sharon Ballek, 61, has pleaded guilty to charges filed in connection with the April 1, 2016, death of a 3-month-old baby who had been entrusted to Ballek’s care. McKenna Rose Felmly died on her first day at the now-closed Lehigh Township facility, located at 4538 Third St.

Ballek entered her guilty plea before Northampton County Judge Paula Roscioli July 31. She admitted to both endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
