Crime Watch to meet

The Whitehall Township Crime Watch will meet 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Whitehall Township municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.

Captain Mark Bilder of the Whitehall Township Fire Department will speak on holiday safety and emergency fire prevention and responses for inside the home.

Also, the Whitehall Fire Association will present "Whitehall Safety Home."

OCTOBER 14

· A report of a side vehicle window broken brought officers to the 600 block of Race Street.

· Police responded to a report of a motorist who struck a fence with a vehicle in the 700 block of Bethlehem Road.

· A report of a disturbance brought officers to the 900 block of Race Street.

OCTOBER 15

· Officers assisted EMS on Race Street.

· Police responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash in the 300 block of Bridge Street.

Weight team inspecting commercial vehicles

Two commercial vehicles were placed out of service last month in Whitehall because of brake issues.

A crushed car carrier also was taken out of service because of inadequate tie-downs, said Lt. Ribello Bertoni, Whitehall police patrol division commander in a report to Police Chief Linda Kulp, Mayor Edward D. Hozza Jr. and the township commissioners.

Five unannounced days are reserved this month for the township police weight team to inspect triaxle and 18-wheel trucks.

Coplay police

Theft reported

Coplay police responded to a report of a retail theft Oct. 15 at the Giant Food Market, Cherry and Chestnut streets.

The store's loss prevention officer told borough police a 31-year-old Catasauqua woman concealed items on her person without paying for them, police said.

The woman was issued a nontraffic citation and released pending further investigation, police said.

Burglary reported

Borough police are investigating an Oct. 15 burglary at an apartment in the 600 block of Schreiber Avenue.

· Officers were called to the 100 block of Jeffrey Lane to investigate the theft of two phone chargers, two CDs and a GPS unit from a vehicle.

Harassment

reported

Police responded to a report of a woman in the 100 block of Stone Alley being harassed by her ex-boyfriend Oct. 13.

The woman told police she asked the individual to vacate her premises a week earlier and, since his departure, he has continued to call and text her, police said.

Officers spoke to the ex-boyfriend and instructed him to cease communicating with the woman, police said.

Alarm activated

Police responded to an alarm Oct. 13 in the 1200 block of Center Street.
