Michael D. Stout, 35, of Northampton, died Sept. 17, 2012, at home.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of William P. Stout of Chaymont Bay, N.Y., and Barbara Deily of Northampton.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Glenn Deily at home; a brother, William M. Stout of Northampton; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Katie Updegrove of Northampton; and an aunt of Northampton.

Pauline H. Kuchera, 84, of Coplay, died Sept. 16, 2012, at her residence. She was the wife of the late William J. Kuchera Sr., for 53 years.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Pauline (Schmidt) Deutsch.

She was a sewing machine operator for several local mills, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

Violet Mae Bochrowski, 92, of South Whitehall Township, died Sept. 9, 2012, at Lehigh Center - Genesis Elder Care, Macungie. She was the wife of the late John Bochrowski.

Born in Ruchsville, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Bessie (Strauss) Bertsch.

She worked for the Quaker Shoe Factory, Allentown, for many years before retiring in 1982. Prior to that, she worked for Trojan Farms, South Whitehall Township.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

Laureen Sassano, 62, of Catasauqua, died Sept. 9, 2012, at home. She was the wife of Peter Sassano.

She was a nurse.

She helped found Parents Reaching Out to Parents (PROP), a self-help group for parents who have experienced the death of a child. She was a member of Compassionate Friends of the Lehigh Valley support group for grieving parents, where she helped collate the newsletter and wrote articles for many years.

Josephine J. (Garbulinski) Britt, 70, of Walnutport, died Sept. 6, 2012, in her home. She was the wife of Stanley J. Britt for 49 years.

Born in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of John and Helen (Yanchunas) Garbulinski.

She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Slatington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Deborah Ann Aloia of Whitehall; three sisters, Rose Budurka of Nanticoke, Helen Bodek of Nuangola and Lori Wysocki of Swoyersville; nieces; and nephews.

Henry "Hank" R. Swasing, 93, of Levittown, died Aug. 30, 2012, at Cornerstone Assisted Living, New Tripoli. He was the husband of the late Elsie A. (Kopp) Swasing.

Born in Rosebud, he was a son of the late Karl and Wilhemina (Bortz) Swasing.

He was a 1936 graduate of Beccaria Area Senior High School, Clearfield County.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a chief petty officer aboard the USS Saratoga, Henderson and Ranger in the Pacific theater.

Della "Tootsie" G. Smith, 86, of Northampton, died Sept. 5, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Smith.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Stancato) Basilone.

She was last employed at Durkee Foods, Bethlehem, in the coconut department, for several years before retiring. Prior to that, she worked for Pet Foods and Friehofers Bakery, both in Allentown.

She was of a Lutheran background.

Sigmund Levin, 81, a longtime resident of Allentown, died Sept. 8, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Mary (Sadler) Levin for 37 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Oscar and Mary (Siegal) Levin.

He was an owner of Gentry Men's Clothing Shop and an investment banker throughout his time.

Richard C. Frantz, 71, of Daniels-ville and formerly of Whitehall, died Aug. 26, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Kelly A. Seibert. He was the husband of the late Lois F. (Baer) Frantz.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Lynn Hartranft and Rose Frantz.

He was in the U.S Army.

He was a production supervisor in the Longford Department of Day Timers Inc., East Texas, for 20 years before retiring in 2002.
