Tyler Bernard Smith, 32, of Northampton, died in his home May 14, 2013. He was the husband of Chanan (Cortez) Smith. They celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary this year.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of Thomas Benner and Brenda Smith.

He worked as an electrician for Edison Electric and was an apprentice and a member of IBEW 375 since 2005.

He was a Marine Corps vet who served during Operation Enduring Freedom in Kuwait.

Meryl "Tex" H. Semmel, 83, of Allentown, died May 20, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospice-Inpatient unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Olga P. (Pekurny) for 60 years.

Born in Mahoning Township, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Kidden) Semmel.

He was in the Pennsylvania National Guard.

He worked in the maintenance department of the former Tarkett Manufacturning, Whitehall, for many years until he retired in 1992.

He was a member of St. Timothy's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Alvin Newton Bugbee Jr., 90, of Catasauqua, died May 19, 2013. He was the husband of Monica (Hefele) Bugbee for 63 years.

Born in Trenton, N.J., he was a son of the late Alvin Newton Bugbee and Helen Horn of Catasauqua.

He was a Catasauqua High School graduate. He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University. He was a graduate of Infantry Officer's Candidate School.

Joseph Horoschak, 87, of Bethlehem, died May 11, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Mary (Prima) Horoschak for 55 years.

Born in Atlas-Mt. Carmel, he was the son of the late Julian and Alexandra (Herbert) Horoschak.

He graduated in 1950 from St. Joseph's University with a degree in accounting.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a licensed public accountant until he was 83 years old. He was a self-employed licensed public accountant, working from his home for the last 35 of those years, until he retired.

Janice E. Mosser, 87, formerly of Whitehall and Zephyr Hills, Fla., died May 10, 2013, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late William S. Mosser.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Heiney) Deiley.

She was a member of the Hokendauqua Playground Association, Whitehall Women's Club, and the Red Hat Ladies. She belonged to several card clubs and Mah Jong groups.

John Strasser, 89, of Northampton, died May 11, 2013, at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Gertrude (Hutterer) Strasser for 66 years.

Born in Allen Township, he was a son of the late Mathias and Mary (Bishop) Strasser.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He achieved the rank of aviation radioman 3/c.

He was a supervisor/manager for Tama Manufacturing, Northampton, for 35 years until he retired in 1982.

Michael "Mickey" A. Uherick, 73, of Northampton died May 11, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Maryann Uherick for 44 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Michael and Erma S. (Kuchera) Uherick.

He was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy.

He worked at Bridesburg Foundry, Whitehall, and retired in 2002 after 35 years of employment.
