Richard R. Yost, 88, of Coplay, died Dec. 22, 2012, at Sacred heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Ernestine (Recker) Sauerzopf Yost.
Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late Adolph and Cecilia (Failer) Yost.
He was a 1943 graduate of Whitehall High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded three bronze stars.
He was a packer for the former Coplay Cement Company, and retired in 1984.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Coplay.
Caroline A. Hammer, 82, formerly of Cementon, died Dec. 25, 2012, in Cedarbrook, South Whitehall Township.
Born in Cementon, she was the daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Emma (Muick) Hammer.
She was a sewing machine operator for the former D&D Shirt Company, Northampton, and Cross Country Clothes, Egypt and Northampton.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
She is survived by a sister, Theresa Brown of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue M. Feist, 98, of Whitehall, formerly of Catasauqua, died Dec. 21, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Phaon B. Feist Sr. Born in W. Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Bertovich) Deutsch.
She is survived by a son, Phaon B. Jr. and his wife Nancy of Whitehall, daughter, Marie Grube of Bath; brothers, William and Frank Deutsch; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., Catasauqua.
Edward R. Mickowski, 70, of Allentown, died Dec. 22, 2012, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the companion of Marian Pavlick, Allentown, with whom he resided.
Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Edward and Helen (Zych) Mickowski.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He co-owned the Arch Street Hotel, North Catasauqua, with his companion. He worked in the rolling mills for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 36 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 and the United Church of Christ Dart League.
Donald F. Suranofsky Sr., 73, of Northampton, died Dec. 21, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Janice E. (Nichols) for 25 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Peter Suranofsky Sr. and Mae (Lindenmoyer).
He was last employed with Interstate Iron of Whitehouse, N.J., as a welder/fitter for 11 years before retiring in 1998.
He was an active member of Egypt Community Church, Whitehall.
Sarah E. Fritzinger, 95, of North Catasauqua, died Dec. 28, 2012, at Whitehall Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Franklin G. Fritzinger for 75 years.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary (Surman) Hagerman.
She was a seamstress for 20 years for the former Parmet Company, Catasauqua, before she retired.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua.
Jaenis N. Delossantos, 18, of Catasauqua died together with her boyfriend, Thomas Bono, December 29, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident in Catasauqua.
Her death will glorify God as she did not die in vain but rather to send a message to all and especially youth to glorify God and seek him while he is near. Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of Juan and Denise (Gonzalez) Pena.
Clyde E. Buchman Jr., 86, of Macungie, died Dec. 21, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. he was the husband of Grace L. (Hopkins) Buchman of Macungie.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Clyde E. Sr. and Sarah (Leiser) Buchman.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked for Ingersol Rand, Allentown, for 43 years, first as a machinist and was in the office and supply department upon retirement. More recently, he worked for Lighting Fixture and Supply, Allentown, for 11 years.
Charles "Butch" W. Parker, 81, of Whitehall, died Dec. 15, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Mildred C. (Deily) Parker for 61 years.
Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late Charles G. and Theresa (Duld) Parker.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.
He retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company after 38 years of service. He then worked for Emmaus Auto Parts. Previously, he was employed by Kraft Foods and Vale Chemical Company.
Shirley A. Becker, 81, of North-ampton, died Dec. 17, 2012, at Lehigh Vallley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Wilfred B. Becker Jr.
Born in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late James and Eva (Walters) White.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara M. and her husband Paul Conklin and Debra K. and her husband Rodney Altorfer of Whitehall; a sister, Berdell Follweiler of Slatington; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by a son, Wilfred J. Becker; and a grandson.
