Florence A. Mory, 67, of Northampton, died Jan. 1, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she was a daughter of Theodore and Frances (Holly) Mekulic.
She attended St. Paul's U.C.C., Northampton.
She is survived by daughter Christine F. Ilthier and her companion Bruce Worman of Saylorsburg; sister Linda Mekulic; and two grandsons, Garatte and Vince.

Jean L. Peters, 91, of Whtiehall, died Dec. 30, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospital– Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Paul Peters.
Born in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late Garrett Laub Sr. and the late Valeria (Schaffer) Laub.
She was a ward clerk at Cedarbrook County Home before retiring in 1985.
Roger H. Scheirer, 87, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 29, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest Campus, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Haines) Scheirer.
Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harry and Elsie (Wenner) Scheirer.
He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was an accountant with Ingersoll Rand from which he retired after 30 years.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Catasauqua.
Catherine L. Lobach, 65, of Breinigsville, died Dec. 24, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Northampton.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Arlene (Beltz) Gouger.
She worked at Cedarbrook Nursing Home for more than 20 years before retiring.
Donald J. Close, 86, of Whitehall, died Dec. 26, 2013, in Whitehall.
Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Richard V. and Florence (Ellwood) Close.
He earned bachelor's and master's degrees fron Penn State University.
A World War II veteran, he was a corporal in the Army Air Corps and later served in the Navy.
He was a hydrologist-in-charge for the National Weather Service, Ohio River Forecast Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, retiring in 1989. He served in the Peace Corps from 1962 to 1964. He was a past treasurer of the Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority.
Margaretta L. Lentz, 86, of Hokendauqua, died Dec. 26, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown Campus.
She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Lentz.
Born in Hokendauqua, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Anna (Keshel) Theiss.
She was a graduate of Whitehall High School.
She was a seamstress at Tama Manufacturing, Northampton, and Baby Gro, Allentown, until retiring.
She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she prepared and folded weekly bulletins.
John W. Kasten, 63, of Palmerton, died Dec. 26, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Karen (Korutz) Kasten for 40 years.
Born in Jim Thorpe, he was a son of Wayne Kasten of Lehigh County and of the late Rose D. (Molnar) Karsten.
He was a Whitehall High School graduate.
He earned a bachelor's degree in physics, cum laude, from Moravian College.
He was the borough manager of Bangor since 2008.
He was a manager, secretary, and treasurer for eight years each for both Slatington and Palmerton boroughs.
Mae Elizabeth Herber, 93, died peacefully in the morning of Jan. 3, 2014.
Born Nov. 13, 1920, in Schoenersville, she was the daughter of the late Walter J and Florence E (Smith) Greenamoyer.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Warren Charles Herber, who died in October 2007.
A 1939 graduate of Catasauqua High School, she began working as a lab technician for Lehigh Valley Dairy where she met her future husband through a mutual friend.
They married in 1943 while he was on furlough from the Army during World War II.
Helen S. Craven, 99, of Catasauqua, died Dec. 30, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Paul Craven.
Born in North Dakota, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Anna Lavigne (DeMers) Samski.
She worked in the commercial accounting department of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company before retiring.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Catasauqua.
