The Crowded Kitchen Players (CKP) present a truly unique show with a strong storyline in "Parfumerie."

The play centers around a fictional pharmacy shop, Hammerschmidt's Parfumerie in Budapest, Hungary, and includes all the fun and entertainment that audiences have come to expect from the Lower Macungie-based CKP.

For 50 years, "Pip: The Mouse Before Christmas" has been delighting children of all ages. The annual staging of "Pip" began in 1962. This popular holiday puppet show made its debut at Hess's department store which was located in the heart of Allentown's downtown shopping district at Ninth and Hamilton streets.

The Pennsylvania Jazz Collective (PJC) presents a Jazz Christmas vespers service, 4 p.m. Dec. 16, Church of the Manger, 1401 Greenview Drive, Bethlehem.

"Anna Karenina" is a gorgeous mess the famous Tolstoy character and the new film version of the novel.

Director Joe Wright, who previously directed the historical romantic dramas, "Pride and Prejudice" (2005) and "Atonement" (2007), also starring Keira Knightley, who plays the title character, Anna Karenina, reached for opera and instead got soap opera.

Area volunteers pack blizzard bags for seniors

Volunteers from Computer Aid, Selective Insurance, Air Products, and Meals on Wheels recently packed 900 emergency food bags ready to deliver to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in Lehigh County during this winter season.

Every year, Meals on Wheels provides its homebound clients with a day's worth of shelf-stable food items, called "blizzard bags," to be used during bad weather when meals cannot be delivered.

These blizzard bags are provided free-of-charge.
