Grammy Award-winner Harry Connick, Jr. is expected to be in Bethlehem several times leading up to the show and for the opening night gala of the Pennsylvania Youth Theatre (PYT) production of his musical, "The Happy Elf," Nov. 30 - Dec. 16, Charles A. Brown Ice House, Sand Island, Bethlehem.

"We have staged this production over the years in a few cities and when I see the unadulterated joy on the faces of the kids in the audience, I know we have created something special," stated Connick.

Born Jason Aldine Williams, Feb. 28, 1977, Macon, Ga., Jason Aldean has seven No. 1 country singles since his 2005 self-titled debut album which, along with "Wide Open" (2009), went platinum. His hits include "Why," "She's Country,""Big Green Tractor," "The Truth," "Dirt Road Anthem" and "Fly-Over States." His other albums are "Relentless" (2007) and "My Kinda Party" (2010). His first single, "Take A Little Ride," released July 16, is from his forthcoming album, "Night Train," set for Oct. 16 release.

The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC), the State Library and the Pennsylvania Heritage Foundation to bring three Civil War lectures commemorating the 150th anniversary to its statewide audience.

The first of these lectures, "Lincoln's Love of Pennsylvania," is to air 6 p.m. Aug. 31, with an encore presentation, 3 p.m. Sept. 2.

Janet "Gram" M. Geiger, 73, of Slatington, died Aug. 14, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of the late Rodney R. Geiger for 45.

Born in Slatington, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Jennie (Morris) Kibler.

She was last employed at the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, as a machine operator for 10 years before retiring in 1990. Before that, she worked for General Electric on the assembly line for five years.

Dorothea M. Eichelberger, 84, of Northampton, died Aug. 17, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Eichelberger.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Hoffman) Smith.

She was a manager at the former Hellertown Bakery, Northampton, for 25 years before retiring in 1995. She was the former secretary for Zion Stone Cemetery, Kreidersville, for 29 years.

Terry Lee Gillette, 57, of Whitehall, died Aug. 15, 2012, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Joseph A. and Jean D. (Miller) Gillette of Catasauqua.

He worked for Phoenix Forge, Catasauqua, for 20 years.

He was a member of Fullerton Fire Company, Whitehall.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Michael and his wife Nancy Gillette; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Stephen Majercak Jr., 82, of West Catasauqua, died Aug. 16, 2012, in Liberty Nursing Center. He was the husband of Marlene (Oswald) Majercak for 52 years.

Born in Fogelsville, he was a son of the late Stephen Sr. and Veronica (Hudak) Majercak.

He worked in the beam yard of Bethlehem Steel for 30 years until retiring.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fullerton.

He bowled many years for the Salem League.
