Country garden to host dinner buffet Oct. 24

The Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company Country Garden will be holding a trick-or-treat dinner buffet Friday, Oct. 24, from 4-8 p.m.

The dinner will include soup, salad bar, rolls, side dishes, entrees and desserts.

Come dressed in a costume and get a discount

All proceeds benefit the fire company.

The Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company will be holding a flea market Sunday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The kitchen will be open for food and drinks.

Basket social set for Oct. 10

Many beautiful baskets will be raffled off at the 20th Anniversary Fall Basket Social at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, Friday, Oct 10.

The walk-in social will start at 4 p.m. and the drawing will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Winners will be notified via phone that same evening.

In honor of the 20th anniversary celebration, there will be door prizes throughout the evening.

Delicious homemade foods, baked goods and other refreshments will also be available.

The proceeds will benefit The Hope Lutheran Church maintenance fund.

Pets to be blessed Oct. 4

Oct. 4 is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Because of his love for nature and animals, he is known as the Patron Saint of Animals.

To commemorate the feast of this beloved saint, a blessing of animals will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church that day.

Msgr. Thomas Durzak, pastor, will begin the service at 10 a.m. in the church parking lot, 4412 Mountain View Drive, Walnutport.

All are welcome to bring their pets for this special blessing.

Church offering classes

Bethany Wesleyan Church offers Wednesday night classes for adults, youth and children, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Additionally, Bethany Wesleyan is offering Cord of Three Ministry on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the ministry center.

This group is currently doing a Randy Alcorn Bible Study exploring the truths found in the Bible on heaven.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Doors open at 6 p.m.

St. Nicholas church to host end-of-summer fling

You are invited to join in an end-of-summer fling at St. Nicholas Church.

An evening of music and fun with a summer theme will be held at the St. Nicholas social hall, Saturday, Sept. 6, from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

The Piano Man, Tommy Zito, is returning with his keyboard, talent and uncanny ability to play songs from memory.

All are welcome to dance, listen or join in the singing as this entertainer plays audience request of music from the 50s through the 80s.

The end-of-summer fling calls for wearing casual, summer clothes.

The program is titled "Dahlias for a Colorful Summer and Fall."

Superheroes camp opens July 28

Superheroes 2014 Blue Mountain Girl Scout Day Camp will be held from July 28 to Aug. 2 at Indian Trail Park.

The camp is open to girls entering kindergarten to 12th grade.

There is still time to join in on all the fun, meet Superheros, participate in a boat race, find treasures in the creek, participate in archery, play games, sing songs and make new friends.
