Coplay: Egg hunt canceled
Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association has canceled the community Easter egg hunt, originally scheduled for April 11, on the grounds of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church on Fifth Street.
It is the first time in decades the egg hunt will not be held.
The closure of borough hall has caused Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association to mull over alternatives on how to get the food to the 21 families and individuals who use the food bank.
Association President Rick Hess reported various ideas are being discussed by the board to ensure patrons are taken care of.
Be aware as traffic is heavy on Chestnut Street in the area of Giant Food Store and gas station. The parking lot is mostly filled with vehicles as shoppers crowd the aisles inside the store to stock up on groceries.
Note, the grocery store has set aside an hour, 6-7 a.m., each day as a designated shop time for senior citizens.
