Coplay: Borough tree lighting planned for Dec. 5

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association’s annual community tree lighting is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

Santa will make an appearance. There will be Christmas carols and entertainment in the auditorium by Lori Kulp Woodward and James Hummel.

Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be served. Children will receive a small gift bag.


Coplay Sports will hold its annual Christmas parade 10:30 a.m. Dec. 15.

The parade will travel all the borough streets with Santa and Mrs. Claus on a sleigh.

Families who want Santa Claus to deliver gifts to their children must drop off the gifts 6-8 p.m. Dec. 13 or 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Sixth Street field house.


A Christmas gathering is set for 2-6 p.m. Dec. 21 at Coplay Community Plaza, Second and Chestnut streets.

Santa will be at the gazebo. There will be tents to keep the public warm with hot chocolate, doughnuts and cookies.

A Couple of Aardvarks will be performing 4-6 p.m.

Coplay Community Days is sponsoring the free holiday event.
