Allen/East Allen townships: Church plans movie night

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will hold a free family movie night Dec. 7. Doors open 6 p.m. “The Polar Express” will begin 6:30 p.m.

Also, the church’s choir will be caroling at Redner’s Warehouse Market 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 8.


Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, is hosting the annual Christmas house tour and free family history day Dec. 7.

The tour, featuring 10 historic homes and buildings, runs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Advance tickets are available at the Snow Goose Gallery, Main Street, Bethlehem; S. Seems Antiques, Chestnut Street, Bath; Kurt’s Cyclery, Route 248, Nazareth; Bath Drug, Walnut Street, Bath; and Miller Supply Ace Hardware, Route 329, Northampton.

Tickets can also be purchased on the society’s campus the day of the tour.

Beginning 9 a.m., a free family history day with the theme “Artistic Dates and Documents,” will be held on the campus.

There will be an exhibit of decorated documents, demonstrations, crafts, food for sale and holiday wreaths. Edward Quinter will translate German birth certificates or documents.


Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Christmas cookie sale and holiday shop will be Dec. 10.

The sale runs 9-11 a.m. — or until sold out.

Also starting 9 a.m., the holiday variety shop features new and gently used holiday items. Items will be offered at half price 11 a.m.-noon.
