Northampton infielders Kendyll Strohl and Katelyn Stuhldreher are newcomers to Lehigh Valley’s Carpenter Cup team.

Strohl will play third base and shortstop.

“I don’t know a lot of the girls, but I’m excited to get to know everyone,” Strohl said. “For me, my strength is definitely fielding, but hopefully I can help the team in fielding and batting.”

Stuhldreher is also an infielder.

“I wanted to represent the Lehigh Valley and get experience with different players,” said Stuhldreher. “I heard it was a good experience and that I should try it.”

Both Stuhldreher and Strohl would like to carry their high school softball careers onto the college playing field, so they are prepared to compete in front of college coaches next week.

“Just stay relaxed and play my game,” said Stuhldreher, regarding her plan for the tournament. “I feel like we’ll all be more confident and comfortable as we practice more.”

Last year’s Lehigh Valley team finished in third place.

“Hopefully, we’ll do great things together and get far,” said Strohl.
