Northampton Area Public Library: New kids clubs starting
There are new monthly clubs for kids in third through fifth grades beginning in January at Northampton Area Public Library. Clubs include Book Club, Lego Club, Art and Craft Club and Game Club.
Club meetings are held 6 p.m. Thursdays, January through April.
Registration for children’s winter programs begins Jan. 7. Programs range for children ages 10 months to second grade.
The preschool play and learn program is set for 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 8. Play and explore with STEM toys and activities with your child.
The program is for children ages 3 through those entering kindergarten. No registration is required.
The “Nailed It-Teen Edition” program will be held 3 p.m. Jan. 16. Just like the Netflix show, participants will decorate cupcakes to look like what is provided.
The winner gets a prize!
The Red Cross and You event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17. Join Ned Bloom, volunteer services senior specialist, for an introduction to the Red Cross, including its history and services.
Learn about the free smoke alarm installation program, Sound the Alarm, and what people need to do now to be better prepared at home.
Don’t miss the preschool block party set for 10 a.m. Jan. 22. Play and build with our block collection. Have fun, while at the same time strengthening vocabulary, problem-solving skills, reading readiness and social skills.
The program is recommended for ages 2 and up and accompanied by an adult. No registration is required.
The library will host a stuffed animal sleepover 6 p.m. Jan. 22. Children up to age 5 are invited to bring a stuffed animal to a special pajama storytime and let their stuffed animal sleep over at the library.
Will the animals stay snug in their beds? Or will they go on an adventure through the stacks? Pick up your stuffed animal anytime the next day and find out for yourself.
“Harry Potter” book night is 6 p.m. Feb. 5. Join us for games, treats and magical spells as we celebrate all things “Harry Potter.”
