East Allen seeking photos for its website

Wednesday, January 2, 2019 by PAUL CMIL Special to The Press in Local News

East Allen Township redesigned its website; now it looks like all the other municipality websites. Who knew East Allen Township only had four pictures? There is a need to make the website look East Allen-ish.

Here’s an idea — have a contest for residents to send in pictures! Township Manager Brent Green is taking credit for the idea, but there is some suspicion that others may be involved.

The idea is to have pictures that not only depict the beauty of the township, but change with the seasons.

People pictures — good.

Backyard views — good.

Snow-covered tree branches sparkling in the sun — good.

Pile of leaves among brightly colored trees — good.

Trucks rolling down Route 329 — not good.

The photos will be judged by a panel of experts, not necessarily in photography.

The reward is in heaven, or nirvana for the nonbelievers. You do get bragging rights and a credit line.

Getting your pictures before the judging committee is easy–peezy. Send your pictures as an attachment in jpg format to and put “PHOTO” in the subject line.

At some future date, if your photo is selected by the Louvre for display next to the Mona Lisa, the township will relinquish its photographic rights at no cost to you.
