Bath: Weekend basket raffle planned

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St., will be holding its annual basket raffle noon-6 p.m. Nov. 10 and 1-3 p.m. Nov. 11. There will be food, refreshments, ticket purchases and basket viewing.

The drawing will be 3 p.m. Nov. 11. You need not be present to win.

Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive, will be having a breakfast 8 a.m.-noon Nov. 11. The breakfast buffet is open to the public and includes made-to-order and scrambled eggs, omelet toppings, French toast, pancakes, home fries, sausage, bacon, ham, scrapple, creamed dried beef, fruit cup, juices, toast and hot beverages.

Veterans receive $2 off their meal.

The women’s group of Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will decorate cards and gifts bags 7 p.m. Nov. 12. These festive bags and cards will be used while the group goes caroling for the church’s homebound members Dec. 9.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, will hold its next monthly meeting 7 p.m. Nov. 13. The meeting is open to the public.

Also, the historical society museum will be open to the public 1-3 p.m. Nov. 17 for tours of the buildings.

The Bath Fire Company Social Hall, 135 S. Walnut St., will be holding a fall turkey raffle Nov. 17. The doors open 11:30 p.m.

There will be 25 turkeys and 15 spins. Spins include five different selections. There will also be door prizes. You must be present to win. A hot meal and refreshments will be available.

The fourth annual holiday shopping craft and vendor show will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Moore Elementary School, 2835 Mountain View Drive. There will be personalized jewelry and clothing, handmade crafts, caricatures and chair massages.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church will be hosting the Bath Area Council of Churches community for a celebration of giving thanks at the Thanksgiving Eve service Nov. 21.

The service begins 7 p.m. with special music. Choirs from all area churches will join in praise.

Bath Area Food Bank, 206 E. Main St., is asking for donations of gift cards for Ahart’s Market in Bath. These will be distributed to food bank clients for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
