Moore Township: Point Phillips club hosts November events

Point Phillips Rod and Gun Club, 1035 Smith Gap Road, is having a block shoot and turkey raffle 7-10 p.m. Nov. 2. The kitchen will be open.

The club will be hosting a pig roast with live music by Banned from the Ranch 7-10 p.m. Nov. 3. The kitchen will be open.

Point Phillips is also having an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8-11:30 a.m. Nov. 11. There is a cost.

Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, will have a country festival and craft fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 3.

Salem celebrated Harvest Home Sept. 16 and donated all the food collected to the Bath Area Food Bank.

Christians celebrate this day by singing, praying and decorating the churches with baskets of food. This year, there was a beautiful display of varieties of food donated by members of the congregation. Salem continues to support the food bank on a monthly basis as well.

Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive, is having its annual indoor flea market 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 4.

Klecknersville Rangers, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will be installing smoke detectors at no cost to Moore Township and Chapman Borough residents.

Moore Township has scheduled leaf pickups to begin Nov. 5 and continue for the next eight weeks, depending on conditions.

There will be multiple trips through each neighborhood for the duration of the collection program. Private roads do not qualify for leaf pickup.

Leaf piles must be free of sticks and debris and can be piled at the edge of the roadways. Public work staff reserve the right to refuse pickup if inappropriate debris is found in the piles.

Residents are reminded they are welcome to bring brush and leaves to the recycling area located on the east side of the public works building, during daylight hours, seven days a week. The public works building is located next to the township building, 2491 Community Drive.
