Postseason up next
At the beginning of the season cross country coach Dan Benner wanted the boys and girls teams to finish with winning records.
Over the past could of weeks, success in the finals three meets of the season resulted in just that as the girls finished 12-5 and the boys were 11-6.
“It was great that both teams had winning seasons, it has been awhile since we have had both teams accomplish that,” Benner said.
On Sept. 29, both the boys and girls teams competed at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. Georgia Wiswesser ran a personal best time of 19:33 to finish 27th out of 331 runners. She was the top female finisher from District XI on the day.
On Oct. 3, NHS traveled to East Stroudsburg South High School to take on East Stroudsburg North, East Stroudsburg South, and Stoudsburg. Both the boys and girls went 2-1 on the day with wins over ESN and ESS.
The last regular season meet was Oct. 9th at Easton. The Kids scored against Becahi, Easton, Freedom, Liberty, and Nazareth. The girls went 4-1 on the day with wins against Becahi, Freedom, Liberty, and Nazareth. The boys went 2-3 on the day with wins over Becahi and Freedom.
