Edgar E.L. Silfies Jr.
Edgar E.L. Silfies Jr., 96, of Northampton, died Oct. 4, 2018, at Moravian Village, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Loretta June (Andrews) Silfies.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edgar E.L. Sr. and Helen (Grow) Silfies.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a packaging supervisor at Universal Atlas Cement, Northampton, for 40 years until he retired in 1980.
He attended Grace United Church of Christ, Northampton.
He was a member of and active with Northampton Area Food Bank. He was a former member of the board of directors of the Lehigh Valley Traffic Club.
He is survived by three sons, David D. and his wife Janice of Allentown, Timothy and his wife Lori of Pittsburgh and Todd E. of Saylorsburg; a brother, William H. Silfies of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Joan Kline.
