former magisterial district judge

William F. Zaun Jr., 76, of Lehigh Township, died June 4, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Til Marie (Valente) Zaun for 30 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William S. and the late Mae A. (Ziegler) Zaun.

He was a 1959 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, a 1963 graduate of Georgetown University and a 1966 graduate of Villanova Law School.

He was, for six years, in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He practiced law for 30 years and was of council at Steckel and Stopp law office, Slatington. He was an assistant public defender in Northampton County for 18 years and, in 2001, was appointed a magisterial district judge by then-Gov. Tom Ridge.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Walnutport.

He was a past member of the board of directors of the Knights of St. George for 11 years. He wrote and published a book, “Life Can’t Be All Serious.”

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Barbara and her husband Paul Marshall; a stepdaughter, Terri Barrall and her children Ashley, Eric and Lexi; and a stepson, Frank and his wife Stacey Horwath and their children, Alyssa and Kaelah.
