2018 Mayfair at Cedar Crest schedule

Enjoy more than 30 free performances, noon-10 p.m. May 25-27, Mayfair Festival of the Arts at Cedar Crest College, Allentown.

Headlining the festival are Philadelphia Funk Authority and Go Go Gadjet.

There also will be performances by students from local schools and colleges including Allentown School District Inner District Wind Ensemble, Dieruff High School Jazz Band, The Valley Suzuki Strings and Tap Ties, which holds community dance lessons at the college.

There are also two special events in Alumnae Hall.

DanceWorks, an innovative dance program featuring original work choreographed and performed by Cedar Crest students and dance alumnae will be presented from 5-7 p.m. May 26.

At 2 p.m. May 27, students from Civic Theatre of Allentown will perform highlights from their recent performance of “Shrek The Musical, Jr.”

Explore Cedar Crests beautiful campus with free tours of The William F. Curtis Arboretum at 11 a.m. May 25, 26 and 27. Learn about types of tree leaves, flowers, fruit, twigs, and bark; the identifying characteristics of different species, and the role of trees in the environment and the history of the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania. The arboretum boasts more than 150 species of trees from around the world in individual plantings and gardens. Tours last 50-60 minutes and are limited to the first 50 registered per day.
