The K-Kids’ lacrosse team finished its second year under Head Coach Jace Shively on a high note. Northampton picked up a 12-10 victory over Liberty to sweep the season series with the Hurricanes.

Northampton overcame a three-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to steal the win. Junior midfielder Kyle Wescoe led the team with six goals, and junior midfielder Aiden Jones added a hat trick. Junior Garrett Transue finished with two goals and senior Greg Milnes contributed with a goal and an assist.

The K-Kids finished the season with a record of 5-13, the best in program history.

After 19 regular season games, the Northampton baseball season hinges on the final one.

The K-Kids (9-10) hosted Nazareth on Wednesday, May 9 with their District XI playoff hopes on the line. A win would get Northampton to .500 on the season and qualify for a playoff berth. A result was not available at press time.

The K-Kids defeated Pocono Mountain East 6-1 on Friday, May 4 before dropping back-to-back games against Parkland and Whitehall.

In the win over the Cardinals, Cameron Eaton went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored. Isaac Tucker went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored.

Northampton struck first against Whitehall after an RBI double from Kyle Morin in the third inning. K-Kids’ starting pitcher Cole Rufe escaped a bases-loaded, no-outs jam by striking out the side.

The Whitehall offense broke things open in the fifth inning and the Zephyrs cruised to a 7-1 win, setting up Northampton’s need-to-win scenario against Nazareth.

The Press will have complete coverage of the East Penn Conference and District XI track and field meets next week, but there are a few results to report at press time this week. Northampton’s Alexis Barrall won the EPC pole vault at 10-9. Zachery Liggitt won the EPC shot put with a throw of 51-9.25, and Jared Sebesta finished fourth in the same event.
