Northampton library: Teen event is set for Feb. 10

The library will hold a teen Random Fandom event 1 p.m. Feb. 10. Join us for random questions and prizes.

A book sale will be held at the library Feb. 21-24. On sale will be books for children, teens and adults, as well as CDs and DVDs.

A “Winter Wellness Using Essential Oils” presentation is set for 11 a.m. Feb. 24. The program will review staying well during the winter while utilizing essential oils, good nutrition and exercise.

There will be a program on vacation planning scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28.

Trista Temos, from Tropical Escapes, will discuss the best times to travel, the top Caribbean islands and what to expect when planning a vacation with an agent.

Ph.D. candidate Evan Reibsome will present “Public Gratitude and Perpetual Warfare” 6 p.m. March 7. His talk addresses a patriotic practice known as “Thank You for Your Service.”

Drawing from material such as literature, popular culture and his own military service, Reibsome understands the need for civilian support for our military, while also inviting audience members to re-examine this popular expression of gratitude with a more critical eye.

The adult winter reading program continues until March 5. Sign up at the library. Fill out a slip for each item read to be entered to win prizes weekly.
