Wednesday, January 3, 2018 by The Press in Columns

Registration for children’s winter programs begins Jan. 8. Programs range for ages ten months to fifth grade.

Our adult winter reading program will take place Jan. 8-Feb. 26. Sign up at the library and fill out your reading log with every item you read. Fill out a slip for each item read to be entered to win prizes weekly.

The M&M mastermind escape room for children in third through fifth grade will be held 6 p.m. Jan. 11. Find the clues, solve the puzzles and escape the room.

Space is limited so registration is required.

Join the Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library at the next meeting — 6 p.m. Jan. 23. The Friends group is an association of concerned citizens who use their talents, skills and interests to focus public attention on the library, stimulate the use of the library and raise funds to provide equipment and programs to the library.

The library will hold teen rock painting 1 p.m. Jan. 27. Learn how to paint and design your own rock.

Registration is required.

Forever Young, our adult book discussion, is 6 p.m. Jan. 29. Who says young adult books are only for teens?

Join us for a discussion of “Paper Towns” by John Green. Copies of the book are available at the help desk.

Harry Potter book night will be 6 p.m. Feb. 1. Join us for games, treats and magical spells as we celebrate our third Harry Potter night. Sign-ups begin Jan. 8.
