Wednesday, August 2, 2017 by MARK RECCEK Special to The Press in Police Log

A Whitehall Township man has been charged with possession of child pornography and dissemination of photographs, both of which are felonies.

According to a criminal complaint, Fathallah Smaki, of Crest Drive, Fullerton, a former security guard at Lehigh Valley Hospital, 1627 Chew St., Allentown, showed another employee a movie containing child pornography while at work Dec. 24, 2015.

The employee told Allentown Police Sgt. Thomas Anderson the video, which contained images of sexual acts between an adult African-American woman and an African-American boy.

The video, the complaint said, was shown to the employee on a cellphone belonging to Smaki while the two of them were in the security office.

A search warrant on Smaki’s cellphone later revealed a color movie, three minutes in length, including a prepubescent female and boy in a sexual act.

Smaki was arraigned July 18 before Magisterial District Justice Rashid Santiago, who set bail at $30,000.
