The state-of-the-art scoreboard, which was erected in 2016 at Sammy Balliet Stadium, Coplay American Legion’s baseball team home, will have a celebratory dedication noon June 24.

For the sidewalk superintendents looking for some activity at the closed Coplay-Northampton Bridge, there is some preliminary work underway.
The estimated completion date for the new bridge is May 2020.
The free shuttle rides between Coplay and Northampton, which are expected to continue for the duration of the bridge closure, run every half-hour. Slowly, more persons who walked the bridge to get to their destination are becoming aware of the service provided by the contractor.
One project a couple of readers suggested for safety and aesthetics is for the borough to construct an island where South Second Street, Third Street and Scheiber Avenue merge. In fact, Lehigh Street is just a bit north of the above-mentioned roads.
The men who came up with the idea said motorists entering Second Street from Third Street would have a better view of oncoming traffic.
With the planting of low shrubbery, the area would have an enhanced appearance for the community.
