Allen/East Allen townships: Good Shepherd plans VBS program

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will hold Vacation Bible School June 19-23 for children age 3 through sixth grade.

This year’s theme is “Tis The Season.” Attendees will learn about the birth of Jesus through stories, songs, crafts, games and snacks.

The children will celebrate Jesus’ birthday 9 a.m. June 25.

Preregister by calling the church office at 610-262-9517 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, by attending 9 a.m. services on Sundays or visiting the church website,

There is no fee to register.

Each child will need a white T-shirt, which will be designed during craft time. It will be worn June 25. You can bring one in on the first day or purchase one at the registration table.

This year’s mission project will benefit Victory House of Lehigh Valley for homeless men and veterans.


East Allen Township’s summer camp will run 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 19-Aug. 3 at Bicentennial Park.

This seven-week program is for boys and girls ages 5 to 12.

You can register your child 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the East Allen Township Municipal Building, 5344 Nor-Bath Blvd.

There is a cost.

In addition to time spent at Bicentennial Park, campers will take trips to Hampton Lanes, the Roxy, Wildlands Conservancy, Lehigh Valley Zoo and more.

The third annual Northampton Area School District Student Council car show is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 29 with a rain date of July 30. There will be cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique tractors. The event will be held at Bicentennial Park West, 5351 Park West Lane, off Colony Drive.

Registration will be 9 a.m.-noon.

There will be awards (presented 3 p.m.), door prizes, a tricky tray, food, a deejay, crafts and a flea market. All proceeds will benefit Student Council.
