Catasauqua: Thrift shop to hold bag sale April 3-8
Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a bag sale April 3-8. Everything in the store is included in the sale, unless marked otherwise.
Store hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Donations of good, used clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store hours.
Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
Catasauqua Garden Club will hold its first meeting of the season 1 p.m. April 5 at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.
Fred Buse, a Pennsylvania master gardener, world traveler and photographer, will share his colorful view of “Montana Wild Flowers.”
Those who have horticulture and artistic items for judging should set up early so the meeting can start without interruption.
Garden-curious folks are welcome to visit and see how enjoyable and interesting the Catasauqua Garden Club can be.
Catasauqua American Legion, 330 Second St., will be holding a Veterans Comedy Assault event April 8. Proceeds benefit Dog Tags of the Lehigh Valley, Operation Lost and Found, which provides trained service dogs to veterans.
Doors open 8 p.m., and the show runs 9-11 p.m.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will hold a walking tour 4 p.m. April 9.
The tour will cover the lower mansion district — bounded by Pine, Bridge, Second and Third streets, plus the industrial activity near the corner of Front and Pine streets.
A dinner at Pies on Pizza, 102 Pine St., will follow the tour.
Reservations are suggested as the tour group size is limited.

HCPA’s walking tour for sitters has been rescheduled due to the snowstorm for 7 p.m. April 11 at the Biery House, 8 Race St.
Feel free to bring refreshments to share.
