Parade set for Oct. 16

Coplay Borough's community Halloween Parade is beginning to come together.

Sponsored by the Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association, the Oct. 16 parade will include three bands: Whitehall High School Zephyr Marching Band, Allentown Hobo Almost Marching Band and the Wind Gap Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. Another two bands are expected to be in the parade but that has not been finalized.

The parade route remains unchanged, beginning on Chestnut Street, proceeding south on Second Street and disbanding at Hokendauqua Street.

American flags flown on utility poles for holidays, such as the upcoming Nov. 11 Veterans Day holiday, may need to be replaced.

A citizens' group with donations from residents has sponsored the flags in the past.

The borough is expected to take over the project in the future.
