Robert L. Schwarz, 93, formerly of Catasauqua and Allentown, died Nov. 23, 2013, at Luther Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Helen (McKeever) Schwarz.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late George and Anna (Leickel) Schwarz.

He was a gradute of Catasauqua High School and Duke University, Durham, N.C. He was one of the first students at Duke Marine Lab, Beaufort, N.C.

He was a medic in the U.S. Army in World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked at Lederle Laboratories. He established his own medical supply company in Easton. He was an investment advisor at several companies, including Janney Montgomery Scott, Allentown, where he worked until September 2013.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.

He is survived by a two daughters, Gretchen Schwarz and Holly Dykes; five grandchildren, Simon, Ethan, Lindsay, Laura and Nathan; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, George Gordon Schwarz.

A calling hour is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.Monday, Dec. 9, at the church, Cedar Crest Boulevard and Tilghman Street , Allentown, 18104.
