The one that we want: Olivia Newton-John, above, returns to the State Theatre for the Arts, Easton, 8 p.m. Feb. 21. Her hits include "I Honestly Love You," "Physical," "Magic," "Suddenly," "Have You Never Been Mellow" and soundtrack hits "Hopelessly Devoted To You," "You're The One That I Want" and "Xanadu." She was bestowed an Order Of The British Empire by Queen Elizabeth in 1979. In 2010, Newton-John appeared as herself in two episodes of the hit series, "Glee." For the 2012 holiday season, she and John Travolta reunited for the first time in more than 30 years for the album, "This Christmas." Her triumph over cancer led her to the creation of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre on the Austin Campus in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. A Dickens of "A Tale": Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities," Feb. 20 - March 3, opens the spring 2013 Act 1 DeSales University Theatre season, Main Stage Theatre, Labuda Center for the Performing Arts, DeSales University, Center Valley. "A Tale of Two Cities" (1859) is set against the backdrops of the American and French revolutions. DeSales professor of theater Wayne S. Turney adapted the epic novel for the stage and directs, above, from left, Ian Moody and Paige Kresge (Charles and Lucie Darnay) and Cole Critchell (Sydney Carton). "The real problem was cutting down this extraordinary epic into two hour's traffic of the stage," says Turney. Sets, costumes and lights are designed by Alan Edwards, Amy Best, and Elizabeth Elliott, respectively. Performances are 8 p.m. Wednesdays - Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, also, 9:45 a.m. Feb. 25, 26. A talk back with director and cast follows the 2 p.m. Feb. 24 performance. Join development director Debra Walter, Chair of Theatre Dennis Razze, along with Turney for "Dinner with Deb and Dennis," a themed sit-down dinner and open bar, 6 p.m. Feb. 24.
