Northamtpon swimmers get swept by FHS

The Northampton swim teams were recently swept by Freedom.

The girls fell 111-65, while the boys lost 113-46.

For the girls, freshman Rachael Pursell came away with two victories. It was the only two wins the Kids managed. Pursell won the 200 free in 2:08.63 along with the 500 free in 5:36.40.

Juniors Emma Steirer and Madison Bernal took seconds in the meet. Steirer was second in the 200 IM behind Freedom's Brooke Munion and Bernal was second in the 100 butterfly behind Helen Hsu. Steirer was also third in the 100 backstroke behind Freedom's Rachael Giles.

Senior Ciara Lane was third in the 200 free behind winner and teammate Pursell. Sophomore Madison Pursell was third in the 200 IM behind Munion and Steirer. Junior Paige Knouse was third in two events, the 50 free behind winner Hsu, and she also fell to Hsu in the 100 fly.

Freshman Annalise Christy also notched a couple of thirds, in the 500 free behind teammate and winner Rachael Pursell and in the 100 breast stroke behind Freedom winner Caitlin McCadden.

Junior Ben Longacre was the Kids only boy winner. Longacre took first in the 100 free in 56.91.

Nick Pavlacka, Steton Weber and Joey Szerencsits all took seconds. Pavlacka was second in the 50 free behind winner Shjon Watlington of Freedom. He was also second in the 100 back behind Pate winner Peter Conzola. Weber was second in the 100 fly behind Conzola, and Szerencsits was second in the 500 free behind Freedom winner Eric Lawrence.

Szerencsits also collected a third place, accomplishing that in the 200 free behind Freedom's Scott Delfranco. Also third was Kyle Iasello, who was third in the 50 free.
