Catasaqua column: Jeopardy in the garden Sept. 5

Thursday, August 30, 2012 by LIZ HAHN Special to The Press in Local News

Be ready in the garden as Sue Drabic, a Pennsylvania master gardener, leads a group in an exciting game of Jeopardy during the meeting of the Catasaqua Garden Club. They meet 1 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St.

There will also be a double jeopardy if you don't bring your club project to the meeting.

Gardeners bringing gems for judging must have them in place by 12:45 p.m. Garden friendly guests are welcome to attend.

The thrift shop will reopen on Tues., Sept. 4. The shop was closed for a week for housecleaning and changing over to fall and winter fashions. Stop in and see what's new.

The store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday. Donations of good, used clothing are accepted during store hours.

Proceeds from the shop are returned to the Catasauqua community through contributions to adult programs and services.
